Walking Tall

Mommies and Daddies
Trudging down the long long road
Having so much to unload

Walking slowly
Slower still
Can't look up
It''s all uphill

Trudging down the long long road
Having so much to unload
Grit your teeth
Sink right in
The road you travel
It has an end

Trudging down the long long road
Having so much to unload

Oh, No...not again
Is that another hill to climb
No I can't, I can't get through
but I must do what I must do....

Trudging down the long long road
Having so much to unload
With an aching back
and sore, sore neck
A smile pasted on,
for inside's a wreck

Trudging down the long long road
Having so much to unload

What is that I see ahead
A dim faint light
is this the end?

Trudging down the long long road
Having so much to unload

You've done good my faithful one
Always pushing through
Always holding on

While:
Trudging down the long long road
Having so much to unload
Your kids they saw you carry on
Your kids they saw you smile still
Your kids they saw you have such peace

While:
Trudging down the long long road
Having so much to unload

Let me take that from your hands
Rest here my child
Now take my hand
Your road is has taken you to this place
Your burdens laid down
Let me see your face

You've done all that I can ask of you
Your children now know how to carry through

When :
Trudging down the long long road
Having so much to unload
